#BLACKLIVESMATTERS AND DENOUNCES PRESIDENT TRUMP
Systemic racism is real and we all need to do better as a nation to stand up against it. Marshall law is not the answer.
June 2, 2020. The Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley (DPSFV), an umbrella organization representing Democrats and Democratic Clubs in and around the Valley, stands in solidarity with our black communities across the Valley, the nation and worldwide. Enough is enough. Too many black lives have been lost at the hands of the system that is supposed to protect them. DPSFV supports the protests and activism engulfing the nation.
President Trump’s response to the widespread protests, including threatening to deploy the U.S. military, shows the clear ignorance guiding the President and is an example of the systemic racism that still actively exists. Right now, we need a leader that can rally everyone together and open up a dialogue to have the difficult conversations that this nation so desperately needs to have, rather than hide in a bunker and remain silent as the nation cries out for a leader. DPSFV demands justice for George Floyd and for the many black lives lost to injustice in this country. DPSFV stands behind #BlackLivesMatters to call for sustainable transformation within our communities. We need a President that understands this and is an ally to our fellow black communities. The members of DPSFV pledge to act, to learn, to listen, to educate, and to inform ourselves and others. We should not be okay that this keeps happening. This should not be normal to our nation. This can’t be our normal. DPSFV denounces the unrelenting racism within this country and DPSFV will not hide as we’ve seen our President do. DPSFV encourages everyone to stand up against racism and stand with our fellow black communities. #BlackLivesMatters #EnoughIsEnough #VOTE
“Let’s stop thinking that our voice don’t matter and vote. Not just for the president, but vote for the preliminaries. Vote for everybody. Educate yourself. Don’t wait for somebody else to tell you who’s who. Educate yourself and know who you’re voting for.”
Terrence Floyd, George Floyd’s Brother
